Vocast vs ElevenLabs: cost, privacy, and quality compared
ElevenLabs is a cloud subscription with a large shared voice library. Vocast is a one-time purchase that clones your voice and renders on your Mac, with no upload and no monthly fee. This page compares the two on cost at real volume, on where the audio is processed, and on the quality gap that remains.

Run the numbers on your own volume
If one of these is on your list, another tool is the honest choice.
You narrate in voices you build from your own recordings. There is no catalogue of stock voices and no cloud updates to one.
Rendering uses the neural engine. There is no Windows, Linux, iOS or web build, and none is planned for this release.
Vocast targets the languages it is tested for. Anything outside that set is untested rather than supported.
