No. It only reads your live input level. If you record a 5 second sample, that stays in your browser and is never uploaded.

Red means the signal is too hot and may be clipping. Move back from the mic or lower your input gain until it sits in the green safe range.

Allow microphone access when your browser asks. If you blocked it, open the site permissions, set the microphone to allow, then reload.

Aim for the green safe zone, with peaks that do not reach the top. That leaves headroom and avoids distortion.
